Adam Lipsky is a composer; pianist, singer, writer, actor and poet. While his early musical education came through classical piano study, then moving through jazz and improvisation, he has continually been developing his creative voice as a composer and performing artist. He is co-Artistic Director and Sound Designer for Glass Eye Shadow Pictures, a shadow theater company. Adam has toured with his own groups and others internationally and has produced several albums of his own compositions. In 2010, Adam earned a B.A. in Music Composition
from Hampshire College. His
composition "Absolve" (2010) continues to be defining example of his musical aesthetic. He studied closely with composer and multi-instrumentalist Marty Ehrlich, performing with Ehrlich in 2012. In 2012, he had the opportunity to perform with the National Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky and Boston-based saxophonist Stan Strickland. Adam’s composition Hee Hawk was featured in the film Revealing Space (2012). In 2012, he released his album Hee Hawk and proceeded to tour that album, with the band of the same name, across the North-East US for the next 2 years. In 2013, he worked as keyboardist and Music Advisor for the San Francisco Fringe Festival’s production of The Ape Woman, at the EXIT Theatre. In September 2013, he helped found Ouroboros Shadow Pictures, with which he continues to work. Since relocating to the SF Bay, Adam has had the privilage of working with Joseph 'Zigaboo' Modeliste, RAW-G (Gina Madrid) and Modern Future. He continues to collaborate widely and develope his original work. He has recently moved to the Mid-Hudson Valley region of New York.
